The benefit of Master Data Management is its ability to share common data with systems and applications across the enterprise for the purpose of transacting business. A critical requirement of multidomain MDM is the creation of a complete lineage between the MDM hub and all IT systems that consume or produce master data. EBX5 lets you define the data source and target systems to a fine-grain level. Its data lineage capabilities allow you to define the usage and mapping between EBX5 and IT systems as well as determine impact analysis and activity monitoring.

Source/Target Systems Mapping

With EBX5, you can easily select and configure the IT systems that are connected to the central MDM hub. Each system can be authorized to consume and/or produce master data with a specific mapping at the field level. This lineage information may be automatically applied to the EBX5 integration layer in order to take advantage of pre-configured master data services.

Cross-references

EBX5 allows you to define cross-references between the central MDM hub and all IT systems. Cross-references can be maintained by end users on each master data object or updated from external systems. In addition, it can be consumed as a DataService, in order to provide real-time look-ups to the data integration layer.

Impact Analysis

Strong data lineage capabilities provide you with a detailed view of the impacts of your master data updates on IT systems. For each master data object at the field level, it is possible to view which systems are consuming or updating master data.

Auditing

As IT systems are consuming or updating master data, EBX5 provides a detailed report with a full transaction history. This enables you to track activity and enforce compliance.
