Master data quality consists of more than finding duplicates in a data source. Quality means rich business rules defined at the data model level and enforced at the point of entry. EBX5 delivers a powerful rules editor that lets you enrich any data model with complex validation rules. During run-time the EBX5 validation engine enforces rules and provides a real-time validation report that allows interactive course correction of any quality issue.
Validation Rules at the Point of EntryEBX5 can perform complex data quality checks at the point of entry. By defining rules at the data model level, EBX5 guarantees consistent quality for all incoming master updates, including data from external systems and the user interface.
Business Rules EditorThe powerful business rules editor in EBX5 is intuitive and does not require coding expertise. It allows you to write a complex expression on any master data object in the data model and includes operators, functions, formulas and the ability to perform dynamic checks against multiple fields from the data model. The rules editor also provides real-time syntax validation which allows users to get the rule right the first time.
Validation Engine and ReportEBX5 performs master data validation at both the point of entry and in background. This capability allows it to run integrity controls on large data sets without impacting end users while other data governance tasks are performed. EBX5 also dynamically generates a validation report that identifies interactive corrections of quality issues.
Advanced Data Quality with Stewardship and SurvivorshipIn addition to declarative validation rules, EBX5 delivers a record-matching module that enable the software to perform deduplication of master data records at the point of entry, using various matching algorithms. A data quality check can be integrated with EBX5 workflow in order to provide data stewardship user interface (including record merging) for end users as well as automatic survivorship. |
